# FotorGear vs Eraser Cat

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: FotorGear at none against Eraser Cat's 1. FotorGear also leads on ratings volume (1.6K vs 2) and review sentiment (72% vs 50%). Eraser Cat's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and update cadence (every 3 days vs weekly). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Eraser Cat sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. FotorGear asks for nothing beyond the download.

Eraser Cat holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FotorGear has 1.6K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 72% of FotorGear's written reviews are positive against 50% of Eraser Cat's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

FotorGear ships an update weekly, Eraser Cat every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
