# GPS Map Camera vs Annotate

The clearest difference is rating: Annotate at 5.0 against GPS Map Camera's 4.3. GPS Map Camera's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (707 vs 3). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GPS Map Camera sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Annotate sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Annotate holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GPS Map Camera has 707 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

GPS Map Camera ships an update fortnightly, Annotate every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and September 20, 2026 respectively.
