# Cool VPN Pro vs U

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Cool VPN Pro at 42K against U's 196. Cool VPN Pro also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.4). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cool VPN Pro sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and U sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Cool VPN Pro holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Cool VPN Pro has 42K ratings behind it against 196, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 76% of Cool VPN Pro's written reviews are positive against 70% of U's.

Cool VPN Pro ships an update every 3 weeks, U fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
