# Cool VPN Pro vs LeapVPN

The clearest difference is monetization model: Cool VPN Pro at free with in-app purchases against LeapVPN's subscription. Cool VPN Pro also leads on review sentiment (76% vs 62%) and ratings volume (43K vs 4.4K). LeapVPN's advantage is ads (none vs shown). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cool VPN Pro sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and LeapVPN sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Cool VPN Pro against 4.7 for LeapVPN. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Cool VPN Pro has 43K ratings behind it against 4.4K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 76% of Cool VPN Pro's written reviews are positive against 62% of LeapVPN's.

Cool VPN Pro ships an update every 3 weeks, LeapVPN every 4 weeks. Both last shipped on November 7, 2026.
