# Cool VPN Pro vs Nive

The clearest difference is monetization model: Cool VPN Pro at free with in-app purchases against Nive's subscription. Cool VPN Pro also leads on ratings volume (42K vs 2.3K) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). Nive's advantage is ads (none vs shown). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cool VPN Pro sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Nive sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Cool VPN Pro holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Cool VPN Pro has 42K ratings behind it against 2.3K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 76% of Cool VPN Pro's written reviews are positive against 78% of Nive's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Cool VPN Pro ships an update every 3 weeks, Nive monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
