# Athan vs Unit & Currency

The clearest difference is ads: Unit & Currency at none against Athan's shown. Unit & Currency also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6). Athan's advantage is ratings volume (2.2K vs 3). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Athan sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Unit & Currency sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Unit & Currency holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Athan has 2.2K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Athan ships an update every 9 days, Unit & Currency every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
