# Athan vs EarRest

The clearest difference is ads: EarRest at none against Athan's shown. EarRest also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 9 days). Athan's advantage is ratings volume (2.1K vs 1) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Athan sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and EarRest sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

EarRest holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Athan has 2.1K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Athan ships an update every 9 days, EarRest every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and September 25, 2026 respectively.
