# Studocu vs Study Lock

The clearest difference is monetization model: Studocu at free against Study Lock's freemium. Studocu also leads on ratings volume (5.9K vs 11) and rating (4.8 vs 4.5). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Studocu sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $34.99 per 3 months and Study Lock sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Studocu holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Studocu has 5.9K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Studocu ships an update weekly, Study Lock every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
