# RouteNote vs WayLog

The clearest difference is rating: WayLog at 5.0 against RouteNote's 4.5. WayLog also leads on ratings volume (27 vs 4) and device support (3 vs 1). RouteNote's advantage is review sentiment (81% vs 62%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. RouteNote sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and WayLog sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

WayLog holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WayLog has 27 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 81% of RouteNote's written reviews are positive against 62% of WayLog's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

RouteNote ships an update every 10 days, WayLog every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
