# QuoteJar vs Footprints

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Footprints at none against QuoteJar's 2. Footprints also leads on update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 6 months). QuoteJar's advantage is ratings volume (27 vs 3) and device support (4 vs 2). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. QuoteJar sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Footprints asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for QuoteJar against 5.0 for Footprints. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: QuoteJar has 27 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

QuoteJar ships an update every 6 months, Footprints every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
