# ChatStats vs PhotoNote

The clearest difference is rating: PhotoNote at 4.4 against ChatStats's 3.1. PhotoNote also leads on review sentiment (82% vs 44%) and ratings volume (228 vs 26). ChatStats's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (12.1 vs 15.0). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ChatStats sells 7 one-off in-app purchases and PhotoNote sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PhotoNote holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PhotoNote has 228 ratings behind it against 26, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 44% of ChatStats's written reviews are positive against 82% of PhotoNote's.

ChatStats ships an update every 9 days, PhotoNote every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
