# Speedometer ⋙ vs Next Companion

The clearest difference is rating: Next Companion at 5.0 against Speedometer ⋙'s 4.4. Next Companion also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). Speedometer ⋙'s advantage is ratings volume (15K vs 3) and device support (4 vs 2). On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Next Companion holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Speedometer ⋙ has 15K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.
