# Action Tour Guide vs Guidebook

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Guidebook at none against Action Tour Guide's 41. Guidebook also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Action Tour Guide's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (12K vs 1). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Action Tour Guide sells 40 in-app purchases, starting at $99.99 per year. Guidebook asks for nothing beyond the download.

Guidebook holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Action Tour Guide has 12K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Action Tour Guide ships an update every 2 weeks, Guidebook every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
