# Datto Workplace vs SonicExpress

The clearest difference is rating: Datto Workplace at 4.4 against SonicExpress's 3.5. Datto Workplace also leads on ratings volume (1K vs 11). SonicExpress's advantage is review sentiment (25% vs 14%) and iOS requirement (13.4 vs 16.6). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Datto Workplace holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Datto Workplace has 1K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 14% of Datto Workplace's written reviews are positive against 25% of SonicExpress's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Datto Workplace ships an update every 3 months, SonicExpress every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
