# Second Stopwatch vs About Timers

The clearest difference is rating: About Timers at 4.5 against Second Stopwatch's 3.1. About Timers also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 4 months) and review sentiment (67% vs 50%). Second Stopwatch's advantage is device support (5 vs 2) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 17.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Second Stopwatch sells 6 one-off in-app purchases and About Timers sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

About Timers holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: About Timers has 57 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 50% of Second Stopwatch's written reviews are positive against 67% of About Timers's.

Second Stopwatch ships an update every 4 months, About Timers fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and September 19, 2026 respectively.
