# Maqloba vs Captain Chef

The clearest difference is rating: Maqloba at 3.9 against Captain Chef's 3.0. Maqloba also leads on ratings volume (265 vs 16). Captain Chef's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Maqloba holds the better App Store score, 3.9 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Maqloba has 265 ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
