# Tyme | Time Tracking vs Day Tracker

The clearest difference is monetization model: Day Tracker at free with in-app purchases against Tyme | Time Tracking's subscription. Day Tracker also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.5) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 18.6). Tyme | Time Tracking's advantage is ratings volume (54 vs 1) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tyme | Time Tracking sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and Day Tracker sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Day Tracker holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tyme | Time Tracking has 54 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Tyme | Time Tracking ships an update every 3 weeks, Day Tracker every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
