# Mesmerize vs Five Elements

The clearest difference is monetization model: Five Elements at free with in-app purchases against Mesmerize's subscription. Five Elements also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and review sentiment (50% vs 34%). Mesmerize's advantage is ratings volume (57K vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mesmerize sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Five Elements sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Five Elements holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mesmerize has 57K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 34% of Mesmerize's written reviews are positive against 50% of Five Elements's.

Mesmerize ships an update every 3 weeks, Five Elements every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
