# DrumToolz vs Drums

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: DrumToolz at none against Drums's 7. DrumToolz also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (monthly vs every 8 months). Drums's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 4.2) and ratings volume (2.2K vs 313). On price, review sentiment, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Drums sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. DrumToolz asks for nothing beyond the download.

Drums holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Drums has 2.2K ratings behind it against 313, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 58% of DrumToolz's written reviews are positive against 52% of Drums's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

DrumToolz ships an update monthly, Drums every 8 months. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
