# théMOTique vs Codex

The clearest difference is ads: Codex at none against théMOTique's shown. Codex also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 5 months) and ratings volume (5 vs 1). théMOTique's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.0). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. théMOTique sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and Codex sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

théMOTique holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Codex has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

théMOTique ships an update every 5 months, Codex every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
