# FlashCards vs Poki

The clearest difference is ads: Poki at none against FlashCards's shown. Poki also leads on update cadence (every 6 days vs fortnightly). FlashCards's advantage is review sentiment (83% vs 54%) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.4). On price, rating, ratings volume and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FlashCards sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Poki sells 18 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Poki holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 52 and 99 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 83% of FlashCards's written reviews are positive against 54% of Poki's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

FlashCards ships an update fortnightly, Poki every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
