# FlashCards vs Flashcards Maker

The clearest difference is ads: Flashcards Maker at none against FlashCards's shown. Flashcards Maker also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs fortnightly) and review sentiment (100% vs 83%). FlashCards's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 4.2) and ratings volume (52 vs 5). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FlashCards sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Flashcards Maker sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

FlashCards holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FlashCards has 52 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 83% of FlashCards's written reviews are positive against 100% of Flashcards Maker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

FlashCards ships an update fortnightly, Flashcards Maker every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
