# Live Lightning Map Storm Radar vs Lightning Tracker with Alerts

The clearest difference is monetization model: Lightning Tracker with Alerts at free with in-app purchases against Live Lightning Map Storm Radar's subscription. Lightning Tracker with Alerts also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 66%) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). Live Lightning Map Storm Radar's advantage is rating (4.3 vs 3.8) and ads (none vs shown). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Live Lightning Map Storm Radar sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per month and Lightning Tracker with Alerts sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Live Lightning Map Storm Radar holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Live Lightning Map Storm Radar has 91 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 66% of Live Lightning Map Storm Radar's written reviews are positive against 100% of Lightning Tracker with Alerts's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
