# THC Weed Identifier vs Berify

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Berify at none against THC Weed Identifier's 8. Berify also leads on review sentiment (62% vs 31%) and update cadence (every 10 days vs every 6 weeks). THC Weed Identifier's advantage is rating (4.3 vs 4.1) and ratings volume (836 vs 69). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. THC Weed Identifier sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Berify asks for nothing beyond the download.

THC Weed Identifier holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: THC Weed Identifier has 836 ratings behind it against 69, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 31% of THC Weed Identifier's written reviews are positive against 62% of Berify's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

THC Weed Identifier ships an update every 6 weeks, Berify every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
