# Note Share vs Proton Calendar

The clearest difference is monetization model: Proton Calendar at free against Note Share's freemium. Proton Calendar also leads on ratings volume (1.6K vs 9). Note Share's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 5 weeks) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Note Share sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Proton Calendar sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.2 for Note Share against 4.1 for Proton Calendar. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Proton Calendar has 1.6K ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Note Share ships an update weekly, Proton Calendar every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and November 1, 2026 respectively.
