# SportScience vs Shot Tracker

The clearest difference is monetization model: SportScience at free against Shot Tracker's freemium. SportScience also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 18.6). Shot Tracker's advantage is ratings volume (12 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SportScience sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Shot Tracker sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SportScience holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Shot Tracker has 12 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

SportScience ships an update every 9 days, Shot Tracker fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
