# GEMS Connect vs OpenApply

The clearest difference is review sentiment: OpenApply at 100% against GEMS Connect's 47%. GEMS Connect's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs every 2 months) and rating (4.4 vs 4.1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

GEMS Connect holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GEMS Connect has 214 ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 47% of GEMS Connect's written reviews are positive against 100% of OpenApply's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

GEMS Connect ships an update every 4 days, OpenApply every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 12, 2026.
