# Speed Reading App vs ReadUp

The clearest difference is rating: Speed Reading App at 4.4 against ReadUp's 3.0. Speed Reading App also leads on ratings volume (21 vs 2). ReadUp's advantage is review sentiment (67% vs 43%) and update cadence (every 10 days vs every 5 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Speed Reading App sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days and ReadUp sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Speed Reading App holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Speed Reading App has 21 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 43% of Speed Reading App's written reviews are positive against 67% of ReadUp's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Speed Reading App ships an update every 5 weeks, ReadUp every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
