# OpenMoji vs FIVE

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: OpenMoji at none against FIVE's 4. OpenMoji also leads on ads (none vs shown). FIVE's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 10 months) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 14.0). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FIVE sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. OpenMoji asks for nothing beyond the download.

OpenMoji ships an update every 10 months, FIVE fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
