# KeyVPN vs Authenticator+ App

The clearest difference is monetization model: Authenticator+ App at free with in-app purchases against KeyVPN's subscription. Authenticator+ App also leads on ratings volume (3K vs 525). KeyVPN's advantage is review sentiment (86% vs 69%) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 6 weeks). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. KeyVPN sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.49 per 7 days and Authenticator+ App sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for KeyVPN against 4.5 for Authenticator+ App. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Authenticator+ App has 3K ratings behind it against 525, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 86% of KeyVPN's written reviews are positive against 69% of Authenticator+ App's.

KeyVPN ships an update every 3 weeks, Authenticator+ App every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
