# PowerTimer vs About Timers

The clearest difference is ads: PowerTimer at none against About Timers's shown. About Timers's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 4.2) and ratings volume (57 vs 5). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PowerTimer sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per year and About Timers sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

About Timers holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: About Timers has 57 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 67% and 67% positive.

PowerTimer ships an update monthly, About Timers fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
