# Dean's App vs Kratos Surgery

The clearest difference is monetization model: Kratos Surgery at free against Dean's App's free with in-app purchases. Kratos Surgery also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). Dean's App's advantage is review sentiment (78% vs 67%) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 16.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Dean's App sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per month and Kratos Surgery sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
