# Griptonite vs ClimbTime

The clearest difference is rating: ClimbTime at 4.4 against Griptonite's 3.0. ClimbTime also leads on review sentiment (67% vs 45%) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Griptonite sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and ClimbTime sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ClimbTime holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ClimbTime has 109 ratings behind it against 21, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 45% of Griptonite's written reviews are positive against 67% of ClimbTime's.

Griptonite ships an update every 3 weeks, ClimbTime weekly. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
