# Griptonite vs Loop

The clearest difference is rating: Loop at 5.0 against Griptonite's 3.0. Loop also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). Griptonite's advantage is ratings volume (21 vs 3). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Griptonite sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Loop sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Loop holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Griptonite has 21 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Griptonite ships an update every 3 weeks, Loop weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
