# Screen Recorder Pro⋆ vs Live Recorder

The clearest difference is monetization model: Live Recorder at free with in-app purchases against Screen Recorder Pro⋆'s subscription. Live Recorder also leads on review sentiment (53% vs 32%). Screen Recorder Pro⋆'s advantage is ratings volume (23K vs 4.1K) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.6). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Screen Recorder Pro⋆ sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Live Recorder sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for Screen Recorder Pro⋆ against 4.4 for Live Recorder. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Screen Recorder Pro⋆ has 23K ratings behind it against 4.1K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 32% of Screen Recorder Pro⋆'s written reviews are positive against 53% of Live Recorder's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
