# NextDNS vs Info Locker

The clearest difference is monetization model: NextDNS at free against Info Locker's freemium. NextDNS also leads on ratings volume (1.8K vs 11). Info Locker's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.5) and iOS requirement (16.4 vs 18.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. NextDNS sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Info Locker sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Info Locker holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NextDNS has 1.8K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two.

NextDNS ships an update every 6 weeks, Info Locker every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
