# scoutSMART Basic vs GetScouted

The clearest difference is update cadence: GetScouted at every 2 weeks against scoutSMART Basic's every 4 months. GetScouted also leads on iOS requirement (13.4 vs 15.1). scoutSMART Basic's advantage is ratings volume (5 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for scoutSMART Basic against 5.0 for GetScouted. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: scoutSMART Basic has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

scoutSMART Basic ships an update every 4 months, GetScouted every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 27, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
