# Fast Math vs Mental Math

The clearest difference is rating: Fast Math at 5.0 against Mental Math's 4.0. Fast Math also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Mental Math's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 67%) and update cadence (every 10 days vs every 4 months). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Fast Math sells 6 one-off in-app purchases and Mental Math sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Fast Math holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2 and 1 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Fast Math's written reviews are positive against 100% of Mental Math's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Fast Math ships an update every 4 months, Mental Math every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on September 18, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
