# Express Thru vs Ninja Gear

The clearest difference is ads: Express Thru at none against Ninja Gear's shown. Express Thru also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 6 weeks) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Ninja Gear's advantage is ratings volume (79 vs 4) and review sentiment (61% vs 50%). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Express Thru sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Ninja Gear sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Express Thru holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ninja Gear has 79 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Express Thru's written reviews are positive against 61% of Ninja Gear's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Express Thru ships an update every 2 weeks, Ninja Gear every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
