# Bookshelf vs Honor Library

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Honor Library at none against Bookshelf's 4. Honor Library also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 days vs every 2 weeks). Bookshelf's advantage is ratings volume (3.1K vs 1) and chart position (#174 vs unranked). On price, rating and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Bookshelf sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Honor Library asks for nothing beyond the download.

Honor Library holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bookshelf has 3.1K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
