# Bookshelf vs Inkipit

The clearest difference is update cadence: Inkipit at every 3 days against Bookshelf's every 2 weeks. Bookshelf's advantage is chart position (#176 vs unranked) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Bookshelf sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Inkipit sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Bookshelf ships an update every 2 weeks, Inkipit every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
