# Screen recorder vs EventCam

The clearest difference is ads: EventCam at none against Screen recorder's shown. EventCam also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 4 weeks). Screen recorder's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Screen recorder sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and EventCam sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Screen recorder ships an update every 4 weeks, EventCam every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
