# Flight Simulator vs Flight Simulator

The clearest difference is ads: Flight Simulator at none against Flight Simulator's shown. Flight Simulator also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (4.7K vs 761). Flight Simulator's advantage is review sentiment (39% vs 18%) and monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs paid). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Flight Simulator sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per 7 days and Flight Simulator sells 12 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.1 for Flight Simulator against 4.1 for Flight Simulator. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Flight Simulator has 4.7K ratings behind it against 761, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 39% of Flight Simulator's written reviews are positive against 18% of Flight Simulator's.

Flight Simulator ships an update every 2 months, Flight Simulator fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
