# simPODD vs Echo

The clearest difference is rating: Echo at 5.0 against simPODD's 4.5. Echo also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 4) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months). simPODD's advantage is ratings volume (21 vs 1). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. simPODD sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $13.99 per month. Echo asks for nothing beyond the download.

Echo holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: simPODD has 21 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

simPODD ships an update every 2 months, Echo every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 3, 2026 and September 17, 2026 respectively.
