# simPODD vs Isaac AAC

The clearest difference is monetization model: simPODD at free with in-app purchases against Isaac AAC's subscription. simPODD also leads on ratings volume (21 vs 1). Isaac AAC's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.5) and update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. simPODD sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $13.99 per month and Isaac AAC sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Isaac AAC holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: simPODD has 21 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

simPODD ships an update every 2 months, Isaac AAC weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
