# Match Officials vs NorCal

Match Officials and NorCal both sit at 2.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 33% of NorCal's written reviews are positive against 0% of Match Officials's. NorCal also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months) and chart position (#167 vs unranked). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Match Officials holds the better App Store score, 2.7 against 2.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NorCal has 18 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of Match Officials's written reviews are positive against 33% of NorCal's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Match Officials ships an update every 2 months, NorCal every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
