# Password Manager vs App Lock™

The clearest difference is monetization model: Password Manager at free with in-app purchases against App Lock™'s subscription. Password Manager also leads on ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (30% vs 19%). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Password Manager sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days and App Lock™ sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for Password Manager against 4.5 for App Lock™. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Password Manager has 17K ratings behind it against 2.6K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 30% of Password Manager's written reviews are positive against 19% of App Lock™'s.

Password Manager ships an update every 2 months, App Lock™ every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
