# Password Manager vs aLock

Password Manager and aLock both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 75% of aLock's written reviews are positive against 30% of Password Manager's. aLock also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). Password Manager's advantage is ratings volume (17K vs 32) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Password Manager sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days and aLock sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

aLock holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Password Manager has 17K ratings behind it against 32, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 30% of Password Manager's written reviews are positive against 75% of aLock's.

Password Manager ships an update every 2 months, aLock every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
