# Flex VPN vs Submap

The clearest difference is ads: Submap at none against Flex VPN's shown. Submap also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs every 3 weeks) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.6). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Flex VPN sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.49 per month and Submap sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Flex VPN ships an update every 3 weeks, Submap every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
