# Matto Espresso vs Bluestone Lane

The clearest difference is rating: Bluestone Lane at 4.8 against Matto Espresso's 3.3. Bluestone Lane also leads on ratings volume (4.2K vs 217). Matto Espresso's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months) and review sentiment (38% vs 29%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Bluestone Lane holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bluestone Lane has 4.2K ratings behind it against 217, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 38% of Matto Espresso's written reviews are positive against 29% of Bluestone Lane's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Matto Espresso ships an update every 2 weeks, Bluestone Lane every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
